Abstract

As Leader of a National Research and Innovation Work Group (RWIG), I spent a year working with seven schools across Sussex. These schools had mixed levels of Pupil Premium. Working with Senior Maths Leaders, we investigated 'How can subject leaders co-create knowledge which allows them to act as key agents for change in their own disciplined inquiry; identifying needs and designing an ‘inquiry-based action research cycle’ which positively impacts maths within their own school context?' Each school created their own bespoke research question, which focused on the individual needs in their own particular setting; completed classroom based pedagogical research and disseminated their findings. They worked closely as a group across their schools, which created maximum benefits.
