Abstract

There are a variety of risks that company directors and corporate boards need to consider, including whether or not their own policies and practices represent a major source of risk. This theme paper is designed to raise questions and encourage thinking ahead of the Singapore Global Convention 2020 on Board Leadership and Risk Management under headings such as responsible board leadership, board leadership qualities and approaches, the boards role in relation to the governance of corporate risk for a resilient enterprise, sustainability and assurance, securing the future and strategy for mitigating risk and ethical concerns, board risk oversight and appetite and tolerance of strategic and financial risks, boardroom strategy for leveraging emerging technologies, and evolving risk and requirements landscape. The theme of the 2020 convention is The Board’s Risk Resilient Strategies and the theme paper is available from the website of India’s Institute of Directors which organizes this annual convention:
