Abstract
Risk management approaches, practices and techniques need to change to reflect evolving risks and the inter-connected nature of contemporary organisations. Boards need to challenge and question them. The risk management community needs to adopt more pro-active and positive approaches that add more value and enable innovation and entrepreneurship. They need to contribute to solutions rather than just report problems, and focus on opportunities as well as challenges. A wider perspective and more collaboration with their peers could enable them to make a greater contribution as a profession.
