Abstract

This book identifies good practice in research in further education, constructing a new framework for research developments in the lifelong learning sector. A series of in-depth case studies are provided, linked to innovative methods of inquiry. The book defines the field of educational research in the sector, tracing the work of a range of networks and agencies which have worked together as communities of practice to encourage FE practitioners to undertake research linked to effective practice. A number of research methods are outlined, including both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, data collection and reporting, as well as principles of research ethics. The preface and introductory chapter are written by Dr Andrew Morris. [Source: Trentham Books].
