Abstract

The Hive is a participatory artwork commissioned by Miton Keynes Islamic Art and Culture MKIAC for the Milton Keynes City of Codes and Light 2025. Inspired by the themes of participatory art, social connectedness and the effect of creative engagements on health and wellbeing, the artwork was co-created in two workshops with schoolchildren at South Central Institute of Technology and Shenley Brook End School.The installation was presented for a month at Milton Keynes public library from 5 October 2024 - 5 November 2024 and then at Houses of Parliament on 24 February 2025.
