Abstract
After a consideration of the creation and subsequent treatment of extant monument in Bury St Edmund's to the Victorian popular author "Ouida" , the keynote lecture considered the effects of the geography of her birthplace on the writer's thematic preoccupations and locations of where she chose to live subsequently.
