Abstract
KIMA Voice performance at Art in Flux Radical Embodiment event at Barbican London - performed by Winter James and the audience;
The performance featured the world-premiere of a new online interface of KIMA: Voice for up to 3 participants at the Barbican's Radical Embodiment.
With Radical Embodiment, Art in Flux and the Barbican presented an evening of media art, moving images, demos, and a discussion with curators and filmmakers on ritual embodiment and the politics of gender - supported by Arts Council England.
The programme highlighted the legacy of Carolee Schneemann for today’s media artists. It asks: how can technologies reveal new experiences of the body, of self and other?
A mixed bill of interactive demos and film screenings, the line-up includes work by artists Tiffany Trenda, Kimatica Studio, Paul Kindersley, Camille Baker, Olive Gingrich, Laura Jean Healey, Ro Greengrass & Maddy James, The Analema Group, Bart Seng, John Lucy, Wes Viz and Ugly Kiki.
Live Performances by Analema Group with Winter James, Jake Elwes & Me - The Drag Queen and Kimatica Studio with Byuka.
