Abstract

This research aims to investigate how business ecosystem strategies facilitate the development of the digital economy. The results indicated that the business ecosystem has been increasingly being applied in digital economy research, especially in the last 5 years. Most of the research is founded and focused on strategy and innovation-related topics. After the bibliometrics analysis and content analysis with the collected data set, this research categorized them into 7 clusters highlighting current research and its trends covering platform economy, sharing economy, digital transformation, data-centric business, circular economy, and business model innovation. The research results are also been translated into a framework to present the dynamics among platforms, ecosystems, and products/services in facilitating the development of the digital economy.
