Abstract
This multi-component output includes an article titled ‘Publishing as Architectural practice’ published in June 2017, and an exhibition designed and curated in April 2017 titled ‘Paginations: Book Designs as Architectural Projects’. This research project examines how certain examples of book design can be understood as a form of architectural design investigation. By drawing on a range of theories from literature, media and architecture, the project surveys, categorises and theorises a range of books from the fields of Art, Architecture, Design, Literature and Sequential Art that are critically examined in relation to architectural concerns: material manifestations of spatial concepts.
