Abstract

This is an invited lecture about the theory of Aspect I have proposed in published work and the fundamentals underlying it. The lecture addressed the formal analysis of Aspect, its nature, the algorithms that give rise to the right interpretation of sentences and the difficulties of capturing these across languages. It was given to established scholars and postgraduate students working on the acquisition on Aspect the 19th January of 2018 at the University of Southampton.
