Abstract
This insightful book focuses on young people’s experiences of severe bullying and the work of the Red Balloon Learner Centres. Red Balloon is a charity with centres across the UK whose aim is to provide support and education to young people who have been severely bullied. The book provides a window into the experiences of the young people; what happened to them and how the bullying affected them. It also looks at the support they received from the charity and discusses issues raised by their experiences, providing guidance and resources for children, teachers and parents. The types of bullying and harassment covered within this book are diverse in nature. The book begins by addressing bullying about someone’s weight and goes on to explore bullying in gangs, sexual violence and bullying, cyberbullying and homophobic bullying.
