Abstract

We bid you welcome to the MODERN HORROR PODCAST. Hosted by authors A. J. Black and Hugh McStay, Modern Horror focuses on horror cinema from 2010 onwards, examining the best, worst, biggest and most obscure horror pictures from around the world. This time, film lecturer and horror enthusiast Jon Wroot joins them to discuss Ti West's X trilogy - 2022's X and Pearl, and 2024's MaXXXine, charting the story of two women connected across 70 years of Hollywood cinema and fame in three very different tonal pictures covering 70s exploitation, silent cinematic madness and 80s slasher excess.
