Abstract

- Men are often reluctant to access health care providers, so it is important to make every consultation count.

- A comprehensive history is the key to the identification of issues and problems.

- Sexually acquired conditions can occur to anybody at any time of life. Do not assume anything - if in doubt, check it out!
- Discussing sexuality and sexual health is embarrassing to many people. Privacy and confidentiality are vital.

- Identifying your local referral pathways for the conditions outlined in this chapter, be they the nearest sexual health clinic, psychosexual counsellor or urology service.
