Abstract

This comprises the Teacher's Notes to the main textbook "Crossing Cultures". To minimise costs to teachers and encourage its use, it was published free by the British Council directly, thereby avoiding the costs of a publisher. It explains the aims and objectives of the textbook along with how these were arrived at, offers general strategies for the use of the textbook and how to assess the material, and takes the teacher through each of the 34 chapters, providing not only the correct answers to questions (where such is possible) but also explaining the rationale for the questions and giving wider context that is not easily available to students. Tapescripts for the 60 minute accompanying cassette of interviews (listening tasks) are also provided, along with an assessment chart.
