Abstract
EDITORIAL
All the papers in this special edition explore the political ideology of literacy practice in some way, and each provides an analysis of contemporary policy and its effect upon teaching. The authors discuss literacy education across the age phases from early years practice to post-compulsory and adult literacy education. In addition, this special ‘Politics of Literacy’ edition of this journal presents papers that offer analysis from around the world as well as from the United Kingdom.
