Abstract
Sustainability transition theory, practice, and movements are Eurocentric in origin and any attempt to translate this idea into the Global South requires embracing epistemic diversity. This entry discusses the challenges and opportunities to facilitate sustainability transitions in food and agriculture in the Global South. It proposes a novel transition typology to promote just food transitions in peripheral regions that are already low-carbon and disproportionately affected by climate change and extreme events.
