Abstract

The article considers, with reference to UK and Commonwealth authorities, whether one joint owner of a legal estate may create a valid tenancy of jointly held land without the agreement of the other joint owners, and whether a unilateral licence to occupy land, granted by one co-owner, can bind the others.
