Abstract
The short film in ‘psychogeographical style’ is the artistic response to the collected stories and a celebration of Woolwich. It reflects the strong ‘sense of belonging’, which came out in the commentaries recorded by the intergenerational and diverse group participants. The project was inspired by UN Sustainability Goal 11 ‘Sustainable Cities’ and carried out under the PARKE framework (Practice as Research Knowledge Exchange). By sharing our responses, stories, feelings and ideas about Woolwich we hope to have built connections and understanding across 'difference' and further the sense of belonging. A further aim of this pilot project was to generate ideas for green, sustainable actions that can be taken in the Woolwich area. Our six 6 participants were invited and chosen to represent a variety of ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds; they walked through Woolwich and shared their observations, feelings and ideas.
