Abstract
Integrated practice describes the collaborative process of utilising the combined resources of health and social care systems to meet the needs of the population. This chapter outlines the ways in which integrated practice might be transformed by, and indeed in turn transform individual and organisational cultures and values in the provision of social care. It draws on a case study student placement scheme that provided training placements for multi-disciplinary teams of health and social care and allied health professional students in care homes. The opportunities and challenges afforded by such an initiative are considered in the wider context of the complexities of integrated care policies and practices'.
