Abstract

This chapter investigates how understandings of authorship in the screen industries relate to the collaborative processes involved in idea and script development and to the wider cooperative networks in which they participate. It considers how conventions, prior relationships, and homophily operate to organise collaborative work in particular ways and examines the role these might play, together with the allocation of credits; the accrual of reputation; the recognition of authorial voice, and the exertion of artistic control, in constructing authorship and producing authors.
