Abstract

The aim of The Cool Towns Intervention Catalogue is to provide the reader with technical information on the range of interventions that can be implemented to mitigate heat stress in the urban environment. The first chapter provides an introduction and is followed by the second, discussing the variety of assessed street-level interventions to mitigate heat stress. The following chapters provide technical information on the advantages and potential drawbacks of each intervention type to enable the reader to make an informed decision about which one is most likely to suit their needs. At the end of the document, in the eighth chapter, you will find a comparative analysis of the different types of interventions to provide thermal comfort for people, the conclusions and the tips and tricks for measuring and implementing heat stress interventions.
