Abstract

EHPs are continually involved in a wealth of strategies to address housing and health but much of this goes unpublished. This information needs to be appropriately disseminated, both for mutual learning and to help attract and retain resource for private sector housing interventions in the future.

The Private Sector Housing Evidence Base (PSHEB) is a new online partnership initiative between the CIEH and the University of Greenwich to raise the profile of private sector housing, within and outside of the profession. The PSHEB will be hosted as part of the

CIEH website and will provide a portal into existing published literature in housing and health (with particular reference to the private housing sector); access to support and assistance for those working toward publication; and will help consolidate resource and expertise.

The University of Greenwich has been actively involved in pioneering the idea, design and development of this site and will act as the initial site editor. The site will be evaluated so that it can offer the best possible support to EHPs and others and raise the profile in this area of environmental health work.
