Abstract

Is transparency the panacea for addressing human rights abuses in supply chains? Many national regulatory instruments seem to have assumed so. But is being transparent the same as being accountable? What is the relationship between transparency and due diligence in supply chains? Is transparency as a concept being left to corporations to define? Should transparency be an obligation and a corresponding right? These questions are the core of this chapter.
