Abstract
Since 1947, the William Temple Foundation has sought to connect Christian social concerns to the realities of the secular world. We are a progressive organisation that seeks to engage a diverse range of religious and secular thinkers; working across disciplines including theology, sociology, economics and beyond. Urban Tracts is a series of papers on urban mission and ministry commissioned in the lead up to the 40th anniversary of the Faith in the City report. In 2021 the issues of social inequality, racial justice, and the failure of the Church to flourish and grow in urban settings have not gone away. I was invited to contribute a 5000 online publication for the series - a practical theological reflection on life in my East-end community.
