Abstract
The article details how parties to business subtenancies may be unprotected by Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 if its provisions were excluded in the business headlease, a purported sublease of a longer duration than the headlease was granted, and a headlease assignment in the subtenant's favour occurs.
