Abstract

Most Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) within the UK have progressed beyond thinking of e-learning as simply the latest innovation and begun to identify ways in which the appropriate exploitation of learning and teaching with technology can be embedded into everyday practice. One difficulty, however, is how to facilitate experimentation with and embedding of effective practices into a large, fairly traditional teaching organisation. The University of Greenwich has approached this by ‘seeding’ a series of e-learning initiatives across the institution through funding the development and delivery of small scale e-learning projects. This paper focuses on the evaluation of the 2002 to 2004 projects and outlines the perceived benefits and impact of these collective projects across the organisation.
