Abstract
This paper discusses the remunicipalisation (or reverse privatisation) of water supply in Grenoble, France. It looks at the problems with private water operations, the process of remunicipalisation and the comparative advantage of public management in the water sector. This case is significant as it was the first case of remunicipalisation in a French city of more than 100,000 inhabitants in the 21st century.
