Abstract

The disabled body confronts how we might think ethically about the relation¬ship between crime, sex and desire. Part of this confrontation stems from the paradoxical relationship between the human rights that a person with disa¬bilities has, and the ethics of how they are practised. This chapter will explore the issues at stake when we discuss sex and disability from a criminological perspective. Although we are yet to establish a comprehensive criminology of disability and sexuality, there is an emerging body of work from disabilities studies which can help criminologists develop a better understanding of this topic.
