Abstract

The article discusses whether a testator can change his will or revoke instructions to a secret trustee, causing loss to the secret beneficiary, and whether proprietary estoppel may, in some circumstances, protect the beneficiary. It also considers the need for proportionality between the remedy and the beneficiary's equity.
