Abstract

The article reviews UK, US and Australian case law illustrating the operation of the caveat emptor rule where the purchaser of property subsequently discovers a disturbing historical fact which affects the value of the property, such as a murder having been committed on the premises, and whether in those circumstances the vendor is under a duty to disclose the full facts.
