Abstract

The article considers the acquisition of title to registered land by adverse possession, including the transmission of possessory titles, possessory titles and first registration and the three exceptional grounds for registering a possessor where there is an objection to registration. The article suggests an amendment of the Land Registration Act 2003 to deal with possessory titles that are never registered by introducing a limitation period for the registration of such titles.
