This comprises part 1 of the plenary lecture at the 2017 conference of the Research Society for Victorian Periodicals at Freiburg, as a result of winning the Colby Prize for the book that most advances thinking about Victorian periodicals published in the year 2016. THis was the Routledge Handbook to Nineteenth-Century Periodicals and Newspapers. Parts 2 and 3 comprised talks by my co-editors Professor Alexis Easley and Dr John Morton (Greenwich). These were not recorded. The whole was designed to enact not merely discuss "collaboration". Part 1 comprised a series of edited mini-videos by contributors followed by a 13 minute pre-recorded video by Andrew King on the topic, exploring the concepts of reading, disobedience and Venn diagrams (themselves first made public in a Victorian periodical) and how they relate to collaboration.
