Abstract
My article analyses Femen – of one of the best-known feminist carnivalesque protest groups founded in Ukraine to fight for feminism, sexual equality and sexual freedom – and the group relationship with online media today. I focus on the way the internet, especially alternative media, have played the major role in promoting and establishing Femen in the recent years. The article explores Femen's idea to promote revolutionary sexuality as opposed to the patriarchal erotic and pornography in internet, as well as violence on the internet.
