Abstract
The integrated new product development (NPD) and supply chain management (SCM) enterprise has the benefit of increased supply chain capability, thus increases the effectiveness of new product introductions and improves enterprise supply chain performance. The purpose of this paper is to identify the integration points of NPD and existing frameworks of SCM and provide guidelines to identifying where critical decision are made in collaboration with the supply chain. We will scan the literature in the field of new product development, new product development performance management, integration of SCM and NPD and identify research gap in existing frameworks and highlights the most critical decision that needs to be considered and pay more attention in collaborative supply chain. The results from this study can be used to develop a methodology for NPD-SCM integration based on enterprise framework with entire focus on the enterprise rather than just new product development aspects.
