Abstract

The article reviews case law on the operation of Schedule 15 to the Law of Property Act 1922 concerning the conversion of perpetually renewable leases into leases for a fixed term of 2,000 years. It considers the application of the European Convention on Human Rights 1950, Protocol 1, article 1, and looks at the consequences of Schedule 15 and possible options if it were to be repealed.
