Abstract

The controlled injection of air can increase the flow rate of some bulk solids from bins and hoppers. From a well-consolidated theoretical model, experimental data obtained by material characterization tests and test rig experiments were used to investigate the aerated discharge behavior of ground yellow corn powder. A comparison between experimental discharge flow rate and the model was performed. Corrective functions obtained by a regression of the experimental data were introduced.
