Abstract

This chapter sets out a framework for analyzing representations of violence in domestic settings. Taking a multi-disciplinary approach, the piece draws upon examples from architecture, literature, the visual arts and film. It seeks to provide a scaffold for (visual) criminologists to frame their reading of such representations. As such, it presents new ways of thinking about violence and the home.
