Abstract
The organisation of economic institutions, including the examination of coordination among firms, has been extensively studied across multiple social science disciplines, economic and business fields. Inter-‐organisational relationships are among some of the most important strategic activities for managers of a firm. There is an enormous amount of research examining inter-‐ organisational relationships. Scholars have tried to decode the structure, provide classifications, explain the rationales and determinants, and evaluate the performance of various types of inter-‐organisational governance modes.
