Abstract

Gentrification and African Presence in Peckham (GAPP) impactful walking tour highlights the spaces occupied by the Caribbean community, 1960 – 1990. The pinnacle of the walking tour contextualises the significant educational, recreational and cultural spaces which shaped Peckham’s social, cultural, political and economic history over a defined period. Participants will be entering a time zone immersed in the sights, smells and imagery in a community dominated by Caribbean residents and visitors.
