Abstract
Gentrification and African Presence in Peckham (GAPP) walking tour to promote historical spaces occupied by the Caribbean community between 1960 and 1990. Each space presents the community as pioneers and trailblazers. Participatory research shaped these walking tours. Methods of data collection include oral history from lived experiences; documentary evidence and artefacts. The pinnacle of the walking tour highlights the impact of the Caribbean presence on the social and cultural capital of defined spaces in Peckham’s history.
