Abstract

The article considers, following a couple's relationship breakdown, whether the engagement ring should be returned. In particular, it examines the effect of s.3(2) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous) Provisions Act 1970. A number of cases are also reviewed applying the rebuttable presumption of gift in such cases.
