Abstract

This chapter speculates on the possible neurochemistry underlying a number of extraordinary experiences falling within the domain of parapsychology, namely telepathy, precognition, and clairvoyance (known collectively as extrasensory perception [ESP]), as well as psychokinesis [PK], which together are subsumed under the umbrella terms “psychic” and “psi.” Related anomalous phenomena, such as out-of-body experiences (OBEs), near-death experiences (NDEs), and “encounter” experiences with alleged discarnate entities are also considered in this chapter.
