Abstract
The essay speaks to the themes of inequality, deprivation and marginalisation but also to resourcefulness, solidarities and strategies that are deployed by the affected to confront relative disadvantages of martial art practitioners in Latin America. The essay aims to inspire policymakers and stakeholders to devise and rethink projects that facilitate urban access and mobility. Given the current insecurities related to health and income, access to sports projects should be facilitated through reasonable fees and socially inclusive spaces that work on- and offline, respecting the necessary measurements to ensure a flattening of the curve of Covid-19 infections.
