Abstract

The article explains the law on the holding of land on trust for minors under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. It discusses the position of landlord as trustee, focusing on the ability for minors to succeed to secure tenancies in equity, with particular reference to the Court of Appeal case of Kingston upon Thames RLBC v Prince [1999] 1 FLR 593.
