Abstract

We present in this paper an assessment of the effect of deploying wind turbines is the vicinity of telemetry links used by utilities. The mechanisms by which turbines affect radio transmissions are discussed as well as methods to calculate the clearance zone and the Wanted to Unwanted Ratio (WUR) of an intended link. A coordination and mitigation procedure is presented with the aim of facilitating the deployment of wind turbines as a main source of renewable energy.
