Abstract

The work in Uganda on non-farm economic activities in rural areas has been active since October 2000, and involved fieldwork in Rakai and Kumi Districts during the period up to February 2001. This report aims to synthesise the findings of the Uganda case study and provide the basis for a summary of policy recommendations and suggestions for linking the findings with potential pathways for policy uptake.
