Abstract

A survey of the work of a highly regarded small architectural practice, covering the years 1964-1986, spanning from New Brutalism to High Tech, with some later work. Themes include modern house designs in the 1960s, design of doctors' surgeries, the integration of architecture and landscape, the architect's brief as a method for design innovation, the restrictions of the planning system, philosophies of design intention, making process, and the social role of architecture.
