The Computer and Video Games industry in the UK is now bigger than music and movie-making, and some of the world's best-known titles such as Grand Theft Auto and Tomb Raider have emanated from development houses in the UK. This seminar looked at what Government could do to support the Video Games industry as it faced fierce competition from Canada and France, and at the realities of the brain drain taking talented individuals out of the UK to the big software houses of Japan and the US.
Wilson, J.A.J.'s transcribed keynote speech discussed the role of retaining and fostering creativity, and the need for more marketers with games industry experience. He also shared his experiences working on Grand Theft Auto.
