Abstract

Explores the Court of Appeal ruling in Reichman v Beveridge on whether a landlord had a right to sue tenants for rent arrears and future loss of rental income where the tenants had abandoned the property and had stopped paying rent. Considers, by reference to case law, whether the landlord was obliged to mitigate their loss and whether they had been unreasonable by not accepting the repudiation of the tenancy and by not repossessing the property.
