Abstract

We study individual agents with identical linear dynamics interconnected in a network, and in particular the lifetime of the transient behaviour, before the asymptotically dominant behaviour is reached. In application and main contribution, we give explicit expressions for the mixing time of non-Poissonian random walkers on a network, and show that it is typically either determined by the network topology alone, or by the waiting time distribution alone.
